Victoria Fex took first place in the Neuroscience Division for her presentation on Midbrain Dopamine Projections to the Insular Cortex for DISC-1 Mice! She later remarked on how UURAF both sharpened her presenting skills, and afforded her a great opportunity to see other research going on at MSU.
Kate Zapkoeski and Dorothy Zhao presented on how obesogenic cues impact neuropeptide activation in the Lateral Hypothalamus. Their study included a CPF behavioral component and FOS labeling.
Ainsley Caldwell presented her ongoing study with Jenna, involving estrogenic effects on binge eating behavior in rats. The study incorporates a binge eating proneness phenotyping procedure and ovariectomy surgeries to remove the availability of estrogen at different points in development.
