Monish Moyal

Monish Moyal is a second year undergraduate student pursuing a Neuroscience degree at Michigan State University. He has been working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Johnson Lab since the Fall 2022 semester. Monish has been involved with the binge eating study at the lab which is testing the effects of estrogen on binge eating behavior. His future goals align significantly with the lab’s goals of finding the underlying mechanisms of multiple addictive behaviors and finding potential treatment interventions. Monish plans to pursue neurosurgery as a career path and hopefully, perform research alongside the surgical aspect on brain tumors and multiple neurodegenerative diseases and malfunctions. Outside of academia, Monish enjoys swimming, running, painting, playing the keyboard, and going to the gym!
